Present: Sinclair Community College and Clark State Community College, English Adjunct Instructor for first and second year English Composition
  • Edit and proofread student essays, providing nurturing feedback that fosters retention 
  • Create interesting and engaging learning activities to increase student awareness on the finer points of academic and composition writing so they can master different writing genres
  • Encourage students to employ best grammar and mechanical practices in any and all writing

Summer 2015: Antioch College, Adjunct Instructor for a course titled Native American History and Literature
  • Created engaging course material that introduced students to various genres of writing targeted at Native American history and culture, but not necessarily written by Native Americans.
  • Successfully educated students not only on the social and political obstacles endured by Native Americans in the United States, but the impact and lack of documented first hand accounts over the course of this country’s history by focusing on poems, autobiographical essays, short stories, and documented historical readings surrounding the Shawnee Indians, the Navajo Code Talkers, Cherokee myths, legends, and the Trail of Tears, and the Sioux Indians (the Ghost Dance and Wounded Knee)

2000-2002 School Year: Frontier Learning Center (Educational Services of America), Co-Teacher
  • Worked with at-risk youth to create diverse, engaging lesson plans with a focus on American history, English, and literature
  • Assisted the front office with the creation of training materials including a staff and protocol handbook, teacher-parent correspondence
